Vierra Communities?

Vierra Communities has thrived for over 70 years, evolving from our first skilled nursing facility to a leader in the healthcare sector. Today, we are proud to uphold a family legacy that spans three generations of dedicated service.

1952

Joseph Vucich opens his first nursing home in a 3 flat on the southside of Chicago

1960

Joseph Vucich develops his first “institutional” nursing home in Racine, WI & begins the Carriage Hill brand throughout the Midwest

1967

Carriage Hill develops & opens its first nursing home on the East Coast in Silver Spring, MD

1977

Carriage Hill develops and opens nursing homes in Bethesda, MD and Arlington, VA

2020

Derek Vucich takes over the family business and begins the rebranding to Vierra Communities

2021

Vierra acquires the Powhatan Nursing Home (now Vierra Falls Church) in Falls Church, VA

2024

Vierra acquires St. Elizabeth Rehab & Nursing in Baltimore, MD

2026

Vierra acquires Admiral Health & Rehab in Arlington, VA and Woodside Rehab & Nursing in Silver Spring, MD
